4E Released!
The time has come. 4th edition has been released. As suspected, I've heard some grumblings concerning the changes made to the game, but as a whole, I'm pleased with the latest release. After briefly glancing at the books, it looks like adventure/encounter design is much simpler, which, as a DM, I greatly appreciate. Hopefully, this will give me additional time to focus on the story and create a game that is more immersive.
Haldane Campaign Setting
H1-Keep on the Shadowfell
Yesterday, I had a chance to briefly look through, Keep on the Shadowfell, Wizard’s first 4th edition adventure. Like myself, I'm sure that most people didn't bother reading the adventure summary in detail and instead went straight for the "preview rules" it contains. With the core rulebooks not out until next month, this is the first official product to feature a summary of the new ruleset, and after looking through it, I must say that I like what I saw. The core mechanic of the game was covered in enough detail to allow the adventure to be played, and all of the presented rules and powers seemed to be logical and easy to understand. All and all, the experience left me even more excited about 4th edition than I was previously.
